***EDUCATION REQUIRED - HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED***
ASSIGNMENT DURATION: 6 MONTH PROJECT WITH THE EXPECTATION TO BE EXTENDED AS NEEDED
SCHEDULE: 6: 00AM - 4: 30PM WITH POTENTIAL TO INCREASE TO 12 HOUR SHIFTS AS NEEDED - AROUND 20 OT HOURS PER WEEK
TOP SKILLS REQUIRED (ENSURE THE BELOW IS LISTED ON ALL RESUMES):
MANAGER WILL START INTERVIEWING THE LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY. ALL INTERVIEWS WILL BE IN-PERSON AND REQUIRE AN ON-SITE WELD TEST.
ON-SITE WELD TEST: WELDERS MUST PASS THREE (3) WELD TESTS (TEST PLATES 1"x8"x10") IN 2G (HORIZONTAL, 3G (VERTICAL), 4G (OVERHEAD), USING FCAW (FLUX CORE ARC WELDING)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipment.
- Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
- Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
- Maintain sufficient knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal to project location of holes, cuts and bends from blueprints, written and typed instructions and manufacturers specifications.
- Use hand tools and be able to correctly setup and operate applicable shop machines.
- Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.
- Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabricate parts by bolting, clamping and tack welding according to blueprints, shop routers and procedures.
- Must be able to write legibly and know how to set up, operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
- Use hand tools and be able to correctly set up and operate applicable machines.
- Must be able to perform work with minimum supervision and exercise individual initiative and judgment.
- Must maintain production documentation per required procedure. To perform arc welding, flux-core welding, and submerged arc welding in accordance with established methods and procedures.
- Execute activities following the daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Perform work tasks with safety as the highest priority, followed by quality, productivity and expedient delivery.
- Understand and apply Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED
- Meet Company welding certifications.
- 3+ years practical welding experience.
- Able to read prints and interpret all welding symbols.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate both JIB and Overhead cranes.
- Ability to operate Class IV Forklifts (Hyster 50-170).
- Ability to read and comprehend company
