Quality Manager - Machining
Job Description
Job Requirements:
The candidate must have a strong manufacturing background that allows them to act as a technical leader on the inspection process and on analyzing the various manufacturing processes. A certain level of technical expertise in manufacturing and inspection methods is also required in order to communicate with and gain the respect of the other employees in the company.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of the Inspection Department.
- Lead the MRB board to resolve part issues via the Discrepant Material Report system.
- Act as the management representative for Quality at quarterly management meetings.
- Interpret customer drawings and settle discrepancies between various viewpoints.
· Act as a customer liaison for matters relating to Quality.
· Develop inspection plans and capability studies with customers as required,
· Provide various inspection data or study results to customers as required.
- Oversee and participate in continuous improvement of procedures and record-keeping.
· Define, develop and manage ongoing quality documentation and method updates.
· Contract Review –check orders for gage needs, documentation requirements, etc.
· Quote intake –Help the front office to work with customers to establish requirements and costs for gaging, special inspections, capability studies, etc.
· Manage external calibration vendors and oversee internal calibration systems.
· Ensure that all company tools and employee tools are calibrated.
· Ensure the company has the proper tools to perform at an optimal level.

Experience required
- 10 years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment that utilizes an ISO-based quality system.
- 8-10 years of leadership/management experience.
- Experience with CAD a plus.
