Job Description


Will train on 1st shift for 2+ months and move to either 2nd or 3rd shift after training

 

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector will assist in all aspects of the Quality inspection program including auditing components or materials, inspection planning, execution, and follow-up if necessary for purchased parts. QA Inspector reviews protocols, qualifications, First Article and Incoming Material validation procedures documented by the organization and follow those procedures. If a purchased product does not meet quality specifications, the QA inspector investigates, documents, and reports the findings.

 

Positions Responsibility

May include:
  • Inspect new or revised purchased parts, received and/or production parts as per the sampling plan and inspection plan  
  • Provide disposition on the line on daily basis & team up with the Production, Supplier Quality departments and Suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. 
  • Data Entry in Live Source and transaction for VR in MAPICS 
  • Document Non-Conformances and communicate the Non-Conformances with the appropriate authorities 
  • Read, interpret and follow Engineering BOM, drawings, inspection plans, work instructions 
  • Assist QA leadership in continuous improvement projects as assigned. 
  • Inspect and provide data for dimensional characteristics as needed to assist quality investigations 
  • Transfer items in or out of the QA inventory locations 
  • Communicate the part status as needed to other functional departments and individuals 

 

Nature and Scope
  • Possesses a broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education 
  • Has no discretion to deviate from established procedures by performing structured work assignments 
  • Work is closely supervised 
  • Problems faced are not typically difficult nor complex 

 

Required Skills
  • Microsoft Office intermediate level 
  • Basic print and GD&T interpretation skills 
  • Quality tools: Systemic data collection and sampling. 
  • 1+ years Recent Hands on experience with measurement tools such a caliper, micrometer, high gauge, pin gauges 
  • High level of attention to detail 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to be independent and self-disciplined, allowing for timely audit report submission and follow up. 
  • Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area 
  • Strong team player, results orientated, dedicated to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives. 
  • Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job 
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers and employees 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, effective organizational and time management skills 
  • Able to accurately and timely complete reports

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • ·        Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. 
  • ·        Must be able to walk 3 to 5 miles a day.
  • ·        Standing, walking, bending, stooping, etc. To move, view and transfer product.
  • May be required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 40 lbs.
