Quality Inspector
Job Description
- Inspect machined components of various sizes utilizing general manufacturing inspection tools (i.E. CMM, Micrometer, Height Gauges, Caliper, bore gage.
- Verify calibration of inspection equipment on production floor and Quality Labs.
- Perform In-Process-Inspections of parts and processes to ensure adherence to engineering/customer specification
- Inspect final components to customer drawings, specifications, and procedures
- Perform incoming inspection of raw material and components
- Support Quality Assurance activities such as internal and external audits
- Comprehension of GD&T
- Read and understand drawings, in order to ensure parts meet specifications
- Work closely with other departments within the business unit to ensure proper flow of production is met within area and to resolve machining or quality problems
- Record observations and make recommendations for improving processes
- Willingness and commitment to teach and to help improve skill sets in others
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to our safety process
- Work independently with/without minimal direction of senior personnel in functional area
- Follow company processes and procedures to comply with ISO 9001: 2015 and AS9100 Quality standards
- Follow company established safety standards
- Other duties as assigned
- Authority to perform all tasks/activities responsible for
- AQL sampling, inspecting, or testing methods, including Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
- Precision measuring tools, inspection techniques to check flatness, concentricity, and straightness of internal and external diameter of cylindrical components with close tolerance (.0005)
- Technical Drawing Interpretation and applied knowledge of GD&T
- Use of analog gages
- Selecting the proper gage to use to inspect a specific feature
- High School or GED
- 3 –5 years’experience in Quality and Manufacturing with specific experience performing inspection techniques using precision measuring tools and following quality procedures
