Job Description
Quality Assurance Engineer
The QA Engineer performs and oversees activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into finished products. When manufacturing or customer concerns arise, the QA Engineer analyses the problem and recommends corrective action and solutions for continuous improvement.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Reviewing customer purchase orders, specifications, and engineering design documentation to determine customer requirements
- Attending and participating in customer and third party audits;i.E. ASME, NUPIC, etc.
- Participating in Material Review Board
- Developing and initiating methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation
- Reviewing and accepting supplier quality procedures and certified material test reports to ASME/ANSI requirements
- Analyzing reports and returned products and recommending corrective action
- Interfacing with workers engaged in measuring and testing products
- Attending meetings related to quality of products with sales, manufacturing, assembly and shipping, and recommending solutions to non-conformance issues
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures including environmental health and safety
- Completes other company related projects as assigned.
- Performs supplier evaluations and audit

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree –Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or other technical degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technical Quality Assurance
- Working knowledge of Codes and standards (e.G. ASME Section III, B16.34, etc.)
- Understanding of Manufacturing processes (machining, NDE, materials, testing, and welding).
- Background in the nuclear power industry a plus
- Prior experience in customer facing roles plus
- Qualified NQA-1 Lead auditor is desirable a plus
