Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee the production process in a manufacturing facility, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining safety protocols and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Key Responsibilities:
•Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and conduct safety training as needed.
•Supervise Production Staff: Manage and supervise a team of production workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and development opportunities.
• Production Planning: Work with production planners to organize workflow, establish priorities, and ensure that production schedules are met.
•Quality Control: Monitor the production process to ensure products meet quality standards and address any issues that arise to maintain product quality.
•Inventory Management: Ensure that raw materials and supplies are available for production and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock.
• Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the production process and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality issues, and prepare reports for management.
• Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve production issues, whether related to machinery, staffing, or supply chain problems.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques is a plus.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
• Problem-solving: Ability to quickly assess situations, identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with SAP
Working Conditions:
• The role requires working in a manufacturing environment, which involves exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.
• The position may require standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
