Performing plumbing and fire protection design for a variety of projects, including but not limited to buildings and facilities (hospitals, laboratories, high-rise residential, hotel, office, and other commercial and institutional projects)
Incorporating design changes using Revit and/or AutoCAD software
Performing system calculations, pipe sizing, fixture selections, sprinkler selection and placement, and equipment sizing
Meeting project schedules and performing work within budgetary constraints
Attending meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss future or current projects
Reviewing submittals and providing responses to Requests for Information
Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards
Pursuing continuous professional development and maintaining a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Four to 10 years of experience in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, high-rise residential, hotel, and office buildings, and other commercial, institutional facilities.
Experience in medical gas systems design is a plus.
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD software
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
PE registration is highly preferred, or FE with the ability to obtain a PE
