Summary

The Operations Supervisor is an experienced professional responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a new LNG export facility. This critical role involves the responsibility for leading on-shift operational activities, ensuring the teams skills and knowledge are completed, along with strict adherence to process design, safety regulations, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge and a proven track record in the operation of LNG facilities, with a critical requirement for deep understanding and hands-on experience with facilities utilizing APCI liquefaction technology. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams during commissioning, startup, and initial operations.

 

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the operations team, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable LNG facility operations in line with procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure Operations Shift Teams complete all required training and assessments to perform their roles competently.
  • Take full accountability for all operations during startup, shutdown, and continuous operation of liquefaction, pre-treatment, utilities, storage, and loading systems.
  • Serve as the primary on-site operational decision-maker, resolving issues, abnormal conditions, and emergencies.
  • Coordinate with CSU, Construction, Maintenance, Engineering, Automation, and other departments to support seamless operations during commissioning and startup.
  • Oversee monitoring and control of plant processes via control systems and field equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safe limits.
  • Manage operations team workload, staffing, and resource use efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate completion of logs, shift reports, CSU procedures, and documentation.
  • Lead and participate in commissioning/startup activities, including system startups, walkdowns, and readiness checks.
  • Promote process safety through strict procedure adherence, Permit to Work management, and active involvement in safety initiatives.
  • Mentor and train the operations team to build technical skills and maintain high competency.
  • Monitor plant performance, analyze data for trends and improvements, and drive optimization efforts.
  • Manage chemical inventories and handle procurement.
  • Coordinate on-site vendor activities as needed.

Required
  • 5+ years of progressive operations experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or LNG industry, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in the operation of APCI C3MR or similar LNG liquefaction technology.
  • Strong understanding of process safety management principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure and during emergency situations.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an LNG facility.
  • Proficiency in using process control systems (e.G., DCS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions.

 

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
