Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee multiple transfer stations across various locations, including Warwick, Marlboro, Brookline, Leominster, Melrose, Essex (MA), and Salem (NH). This is a newly created position, offering a unique opportunity for someone with industry experience to shape the role and contribute to the company's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management: Regularly visit all transfer station sites to ensure they are clean and operating according to contractual obligations.
- Industry Experience: Utilize industry knowledge to improve operational efficiency across sites.
- Equipment Operation: Preference for candidates with heavy equipment experience and a Class A driver's license, enabling them to fill in when necessary, though this will not be a primary duty.
- Managerial Oversight: Provide managerial skills to oversee and support site operations, ensuring all activities comply with company standards and regulations.
- Coordination and Communication: Maintain frequent contact with Dispatch and Maintenance teams to report any concerns and ensure follow-up on corrections and recommendations.
- Operational Familiarity: Develop an intimate understanding of our various trucking lanes and customer requirements to enhance operational performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven industry experience in a similar role.
- Strong managerial and leadership skills.
- Experience with heavy equipment and possession of a Class A driver’s license is a plus.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to travel regularly to various sites.
