Job Description
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing in-house assembly, machining, testing and other production processes to assure all work is performed on time and in accordance with the company quality system, safety policies and customer requirements. Specific job responsibilities are given below.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day production operations to ensure target metrics for revenue, output, on-time delivery, quality and EBITDA are achieved.
- Measure productivity by modeling and analyzing performance and financial data.
- Ensure proper time and data entry by all direct reports.
- Team development to include evaluating, reviewing, hiring, firing, training and mentoring in order to continuously improve production operations at the company.
- Work with Team Leads and Engineering to develop and apply labor standards.
- Support completion of productivity initiatives.
- Develops, maintains, and improves Manufacturing processes and standards.
- Responsible for controlling department expenses.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the company quality system in order to maintain high standards of quality, reliability and safety.
- Responsible for product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for interfacing with third party inspectors as required.
- Responsible for personnel across multiple shifts, if needed.
- Liaison to Engineering, Sales, Finance and other groups for cross-functional issues.

Required Skills/Ability:
The incumbent must have the ability and motivation to initiate and drive execution to plan across all areas of production. The candidate should excel in working in a team environment as well as thrive as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
· Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
· This role is restricted to U.S. Persons (i.E., U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. We will require proof of status prior to employment.
· Must be a goal-driven and team-oriented manager ready to contribute meaningful and measurable improvements to manufacturing systems and processes.
· Must be an energetic, enthusiastic, adaptable, detail-oriented problem solver with good computer and software skills who enjoys new challenges every day.
· Must be able to read mechanical drawings, electrical test specifications, and other build documentation sufficient to build high precision motors and actuators.
· Should have working knowledge of Excel queries and ERP systems. Sage 100/MAS experience preferred.
- Must have a metrics-driven continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience with process planning and technical documentation preferred.
· Should have a good understanding of manufacturing standards including Capacity Planning, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, ERP, MES, BOM’s, and structured root cause and corrective action problem solving.
- A strong working knowledge of electro-mechanical actuators and position transducers is preferred.
- A strong working knowledge of electronic test equipment is a plus.
Experience\Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business required. Minimum of 2 years’experience in manufacturing in an AS9100 and ISO9000 controlled environment. MBA or MS in Engineering preferred. Electronic / Electromechanical product experience preferred.
