Position Overview: The Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and improving all aspects of manufacturing and continuous improvement within the Flowforming department. This role requires a strong focus on lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will lead, motivate, and train employees while driving process improvements and optimizing production workflows. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure safety, quality, cycle time, and on-time delivery goals are met within the department.
Plan and oversee daily operations to ensure safe and efficient production.
Provide leadership, training, and motivation to team members to maximize productivity.
Manage employee schedules and workforce allocation to optimize machining completion.
Evaluate employee performance, implement performance improvement plans, and take disciplinary actions when necessary.
Assist in developing and maintaining work instructions for Flowforming processes.
Identify and address process inefficiencies, implementing solutions for continuous improvement.
Lead improvement events using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
Foster a strong safety culture, addressing hazards and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workflow and on-time delivery (OTD).
Qualifications & Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a machine shop environment.
Expertise in lathe operations, metallurgy, and metal forming.
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Proven ability to problem-solve and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
