Primary Purpose: 

 

Our company is in the process of opening a new 60, 000sqft manufacturing facility in Baldwin, FL (suburb of Jacksonville, FL). This facility will primarily focus on manufacturing and fabrication of electrical control panels and modular buildings for the electric utility and industrial electrical markets as an extension of our successful Winslow, ME facility, in operation since 2004.

 

The position is a key role in the Baldwin, FL business unit as a key resource in producing the equipment as supplied with engineered systems. This position is responsible for modular building assembly, skidded control system fabrication, and general mechanical tasks.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 
  • Mechanical fabrication of modular control buildings from custom steel bases to wall/roof assembly, and full fit out with doors, HVACs, etc.
  • Proper layout of mechanical equipment within modular building. 
  • Assemble mechanical equipment per WM standards and engineered drawings. 
  • Assembling, installing and mounting electrical and mechanical equipment and components in a neat and professional manner within modular control buildings.
  • Ability to visually locate components and determine proper clearances, etc.
  • Properly label and document component identification and location. 
  • Assist with preparing assembled equipment for system testing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area on a daily basis. 
  • Reviews BOM (bill of materials) to assess equipment receipt and readiness for project assembly.
  • Proper use of industrial tools, such as, welders, grinders, band saws, shear, punches, bender, overhead crane, and forklifts.
  • Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
  • Works with Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager to fully understand system assembly requirements and shipment schedules and/or project timelines.

 

 

 




Minimum Requirements:

a)     Education –High School Diploma (Associates in Industrial/Mechanical field and/or related Military experience preferred).

b)    Experience –2+ years of directly related mechanical and/or fabrication experience in the areas described above for Staff Technician Level. 5 –10 years of experience for Lead Technician Level.

·       Strong preference for AWS welding experience and certifications.

·       Strong preference for CWI certification.

c)     Required Skills and Qualifications:

·       Ability to read mechanical/fabrication drawings and details.

·       Good employee interpersonal communication skills.

·       Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of engineers and engineering support.

·       Familiar with the use of a personal computer (PC) for entering timesheets, expense reports, printing wire labels, etc.

·       Working knowledge of all necessary safety requirements while working in assembly area. 

·       Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline driven environment.

 

Physical Demands of Position:

Good visual perception to see small electrical wires and components within the panel boards.

Must have full dexterity in hands and fingers to utilize variety of tools and equipment for electrical assembly. Must have ability to stand and/or kneel for long periods of time. Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines. Also, ability to mount and dismount equipment, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

 
Working Conditions:
Equipment assembly environment;cement floor with floor padding provided as needed. May be dust in the area from the type of equipment environment setting. On-site environment.
