Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, your role involves overseeing the manufacturing processes and associated documentation to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing technical projects and programs that improve processes, reduce costs, or increase output. Here are the essential functions and qualifications for this position:
Essential Functions:
- Manage the Manufacturing Engineering department, including engineers and technicians, and support the following areas:
- Process documentation, such as drawings, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Lean and Six Sigma activities.
- Developing ERP routers for production builds.
- Introducing new production equipment and tooling, both internal and external.
- Process validations.
- QMS activities, including NCEs, CAPA, pFMEAs, Management Reviews, etc.
- Supplier quality and processing issues.
- Improving production yields, reducing waste, increasing capacities, and lowering costs.
- Leading efforts to add new production lines.
- New product designs and introductions.
- Preventive maintenance of production equipment.
- Generating and maintaining budgets.
- Hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising staff members within the Manufacturing Engineering group.
Qualifications:
· A bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a technical manager in a manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of production standards and design engineering standards.
· Must be a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Prior experience with lean manufacturing, particularly in the medical field.
· Demonstrated experience in supervising and managing engineers, technicians, and teams with a focus on lean, Six Sigma, and efficiency programs.
· Proficiency in CAD programs, with knowledge of SolidWorks being a plus.
· Familiarity with MiniTab and solid Excel knowledge.
