Job Summary:

The AP/HR Specialist is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording financial transactions related to Accounts Payable and Human Resources to ensure accuracy of financial records and outside support serves. They will also perform routine financial calculations and general administrative duties throughout the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting cycles, including setting up new vendors and potential employee interviews and communicating with outside support . 

Human Resource Responsiblitiess

•Run all necessary preliminary screens for hiring process

•Coordinate all onboarding processes for new hires

•Process payroll and works with the accounting team to ensure timely completion each pay cycle

•Assist with all internal and external HR related inquires and requests

•Maintain both hard and digital copies of employee records

•Participates in developing organizational guidelines and procedures

•Assist with performance management procedures

•Other duties as assigned

•Provide HR support to all staff

•Serve as a Liaison between benefits and company

Accounts Payable Responsibilities

•Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.

•Checks figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding. 

•Receives, records and banks cash, checks and vouchers.

•Reconciles or notes and reports discrepancies found in records.

•Closes the monthly books related to AP and AR, including accruals working with the Accounting Manager.

•Works closely with the Business Administrator, Controller, Accounting Manager, Purchasing, Sales, and other Departments to accomplish tasks.

•Works closely with the Accounting Management and Production Departments on light HR/AP support as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications: 

•Must have a high school diploma. 

•Associates degree or higher in accounting, Human Resources or business-related field preferred. 

•Must have knowledge and experience working in AP and General Accounting functions.

•Must have a general understanding of manufacturing and the terminology used.

•Team focused and the ability to decipher large amounts of data and condense into reportable and understandable outcomes.

•The ability to be a part of a team supporting coworkers with knowledge and limiting disclosure of confidential information.

•Must be able to uphold Mueller Environmental Designs Core Values as noted in the company handbook.
