Duties:
The role of Equipment/Maintenance/Engineering Tech is to work under close supervision to handle key process actitivities in the optic pin manufacture lab, support R&D staff, and communicate with both internal / external customers.

 

 

 

  • Perform variety of duties in the R&D environment involving optic pin, wafer, and lens manufacture, and lens manufacturing equipment.

     

  • Manufacture, measure, polish, and inspect IOL optic tooling with advanced analysis tools against design specifications in order to detect non-conformance parts.  Thoroughly complete standard optic tooling processing forms with finished tooling parameters.

     

  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and advance instruments.

     

  • Use established software and standard industrial machining codes to generate, verify, and debug computer numerical code (CNC) for fabrication of optic tooling.

     

  • Use established templates to, and or prepare documentation and analytical work, generate DCOs, and enter quality data into quality managment system.

     

  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and by maintaining clean work areas.

     

  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements (PM); following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

     

 

 
Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year machining experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret CNC codes a plus

  • Background in optics a plus

  • Ability to qualitative analyse data a plus.

  • Competent in Microsoft software (Excel, Words, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to organize work / task

Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and study sample parts for machining work.
Education:
High School Diploma / Associate Degree or Equivalent
