Overview
Seeking a hands-on Electro-Mechanical Technician to support the build and testing of custom hardware systems. This role involves assembling and wiring electromechanical systems, plumbing gas lines and fittings, operating basic machine tools, and supporting system integration and testing. Ideal candidates enjoy building real systems from technical drawings, solving practical problems, and working closely with engineers.
Key Responsibilities
•Assemble and wire electromechanical systems based on engineering drawings and schematics
•Plumb pneumatic and vacuum lines using compression fittings and leak-check protocols
•Install and connect motors, sensors, control panels, and instrumentation
•Perform pressure and vacuum leak tests to verify system integrity
•Operate basic machine tools such as drill press, bandsaw, and manual mill for part modifications and fabrication
•Support hardware bring-up and system testing with the engineering team
•Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during assembly and testing
•Maintain accurate records of assembly steps, issues, and resolutions
•Keep the workspace clean, organized, and safety compliant
Qualifications
Required
•Hands-on experience assembling mechanical and electrical systems
•Ability to read and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
•Proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, power tools, and pressure gauges
•Familiarity with pneumatic systems, compression fittings, and leak testing
•Experience operating simple shop equipment: drill press, mill, saws, etc.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
•Able to work independently and communicate clearly with engineers
Preferred
•2+ years of experience building custom machinery, capital equipment, or R&D test systems
•Experience with vacuum components, instrumentation, and system integration
•Welding (TIG/MIG) experience is a plus
