Job Summary
Chief or Specialty Inspector who may serve as sole Resident Inspector on medium-sized projects in conjunction with support staff or as a lead construction inspection resource, typically assigned to more complex and larger projects including; medium new plants or facilities, upgrades or expansions that include new technologies; large-diameter pipe projects in difficult terrain or deep bury in conjunction with plant or facility construction; and/or small dam or tunnel projects.  minimum Qualifications  10+ years field experience. 

Preferred Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. 6+ yrs construction management experience in similar facility construction. PE required or degree + 10 yrs design experience and 6+ yrs construction experience Key Responsibilities • Provides technical direction/interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements as well as general guidance to subcontractors on overall design. • Reviews, maintains records, and responds to requests. • Administers assigned contract(s) for compliance with contract documents. • Monitors construction activities for compliance with the schedule. • Prepares and issues extra work authorization requests. Coordinates with field administrator, as needed. • Maintains a daily log for site record purposes. • Directs and/or performs quantity take-offs as required to support construction planning and invoice approval. • Reviews all subcontractor progress payment requests for acceptance. • Monitors technical service representative (supplier) logs and reviews/approves submitted time sheets. • Compiles and maintains construction records and list markups as assigned, or directs staff in this regard. • Establishes site document control activities for design documents. • Assists in performing inspections and verification of tests. • Provides supervision, training, development and performance management of direct reports. • Adheres to safety and quality standards as appropriate for level of duties and accountability. • Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. • Supervises work of others. Supervises field discipline engineers, field coordinators, subcontract administrators, document control professionals, clerical and administrative professionals, etc.
