Job Description

Civil Engineering Designer/Civil Design Engineer
  • Experience with structural steel design (RISA 3D preferred)
  • Experience with Concrete and HMA pavement designs
  • Experience with Foundation designs (RISA Foundations preferred)
  • Developing specification packages for buildings, materials, and construction procedures
  • Permitting experience is a plus
  • Interface with clients;the development of bid specifications, qualifying, managing, and interfacing with subcontractors
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
  • Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data
  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project
  • Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards
  • Directly supports on-site Site Supervisors for project support during construction
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents

Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • An understanding of the interrelation of civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines on construction projects is a plus
  • Experience in LNG, LPG, and/or natural gas is preferred, but applicable non-gas, industrial, or utility experience will be considered
  • Experience with industrial site design and construction
  • MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • AutoCAD Civil experience a plus
  • Multi-tasking manage deadlines
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally, potentially 10%-15% of the time

Education and/or Experience
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE preferred but not required
  • 8+ years-experience preferred
