The Calibration Technician installs, maintains, tests, repairs, and calibrates a wide range of electrical equipment in a Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment in accordance with environmental, health, safety, and cGMP guidelines.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Monitors and maintains calibration of instruments and equipment.
· Coordinates and/or executes calibration for systems and equipment used by functions within the operations group. This may includeRPM/Timers, Pressure/Vacuum, Differential Pressure Indicators, Temperature, Sales/Balances/Load Tests, and other environmental systems.
· Ensures all calibrations are performed in a timely manner.
· Follows standard calibration procedures per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’ s).
· Provides input into the review and revisions of SOP’ s.
· Documents all work in controlled documents in accordance with SOP’ s.
· Performs all work in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Bachelor’ s degree in a science related or engineering field is preferred.
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of years of related experience in electronics or as a calibration technician is required.
Minimum of one year of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is required.
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry preferred.
Must have experience using a Calibration Software system. Experience with CompuCal System Calibration Software (CCS) ispreferred.
PMEL (Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory) experience is preferred.
Qualifications:
· Familiarity with general lab instrumentation and procedures is preferred.
· Mathematical skills including the ability to perform frequent calculations.
· Mechanical aptitude.
· Must demonstrate appropriate safety consciousness.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in MS Office Suite. Must be familiar with calibration software.
