Job Description
The primary objective of this Test Engineer position is to develop, deploy, and maintain production test equipment for oxygen systems/products. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variable;and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Develops and maintain equipment in support of electrical and pressurized systems for component acceptance testing.
•Ensures test systems perform according to necessary specifications.
•Confirms operations to ensure production quality.
•Establishes validation standards and develops testing protocols. Prepares equipment for testing.
•Support Manufacturing and Engineering staff with failure investigations to resolve test system performance issues.
•Troubleshoot and repair test equipment failures.
•Provides technical direction needed with test equipment.
•Specify the calibration, preventive maintenance and repair requirements of test instrumentation and equipment.
•Participation on program Integrated Product Development teams, review drawings and concepts.
•Work closely with the design engineering team to identify, execute, and document all testing required for certification and/or qualification of aircraft system products to customer and regulatory requirements.
•Design and acquisition of test fixtures.
•Set up and maintain data acquisition systems in house.
•Provide guidance and purchase recommendations on latest testing and data acquisition technology.
•Use of automation technology to perform testing, data acquisition and machine connectivity.
•Support other remote locations with consulting, troubleshooting and guidance.
•Maintenance and/or calibration of general and custom test equipment and/or laboratory.
•Support of products for vacuum waste systems and components.
•Assist in the building and testing of various prototypes, test rigs, equipment and/or products, installations, checkout fixtures and test equipment, typically in a self-directed work environment.
•Support production related issues with products, test equipment or procedures including productive maintenance
•Generating test documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
•Design experience with electromechanical and/or electronic components and systems
•Working knowledge about standard aerospace test methods and aerospace test equipment, (eg: altitude, pressure, vacuum, PSIA, PSIG...)
•Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC/HMI hardware/software and various data transmission paths, including digital, relay, ethernet, and analog I/O.
•Database integration experience with SQL/MySQL or other historian software systems preferred.
•Preferred programming languages: PC - VB.NET and C#. PLC –LabView, Allen Bradley, Unitronics, Horner, C-Scape and Direct Logic.
•Experience developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining high pressure N2, O2, and compressed air systems preferred.
